We’re delighted to have started working with Dunterlie Action Group (DAG) in Barrhead, introducing IMN’s approach to family learning in another community.
This builds on our experience of developing family learning in different settings. Earlier projects in Alloa and Scotstoun were supported by Youth Links and Creative Scotland funding. In Easterhouse, our work initially developed with Youth Links support and has since been extended through National Lottery Awards for All funding. This has enabled us to bring together different strands of our work locally, including mentoring in primary and secondary schools and family learning. Support from Corra Foundation’s Boost programme has also helped us turn families’ ideas into reality, including their idea for a community mural.
DAG is developing its work to support family wellbeing, and we’re pleased to be contributing to this through family learning. Today we began working with local families and an artist, exploring art and creativity as a way for children and adults to learn together, share ideas and try new things.
We’re looking forward to getting to know local families, discovering their interests and ideas, and developing the activities together.
